You can meet, greet and eat with some of the groundbreaking women who stepped into vital roles working on the World War II home front at a dinner and silent auction gala Apr eight at Mira Vista Country Club in El Cerrito.

This year’s event is themed Rosies Forever, and “will honor the legacy of women who were ‘Rosies’ in Richmond’s shipyards during the World War II Home Front era, and the inspiration their stories provide for whole new generations.”

The Rosies are Marian Sousa of El Sobrante, Priscilla Elder of Pinole. Marian Wynn and Kay Morrison of Fairfield, Agnes Moore of Walnut Creek, and Mary Torres of San Leandro.

The talk is free and open to the community.

Article length: About 680 words.
